The billiard's history

Today the billiard is a play discipline with international tournament and mondial championship.

It is also a play very old:  Luigi XIV, Re Sole in France, loved play with the billiard after meals for digestion.

Later, the billiard play had a rapid diffusion, from the well-off social to the poor social. Borboni played "all'italiana" or "5 quilles", while the poor people prefered "goriziana".

The billiard history is full of curiosity and anecdotes. In 1400 they pleyed at Croquet with balls and stickes.

1500: in Vatican City htere was the first billiard.

1676: the first billiard's regulament "The compleat gamestet" by Charles Cotton.

1700: table revolution, the arc and the "King" disappeared.

1807: Mingaud, in the prison, created the cue tip.

1829: the first treaty of the cues with cork's use.

1838: Queen Victoria installed a billiard in the Windstor Castle.

1845: The "Caoutchouc" had been used for the billiard bands by Mr. Goodyear.

1846: pip IX installed a billiard table in Vatican City.

1855: Napoleone III gave as gift to Zar Alexander II for his coronation.

1868: J.W.Hayatt invented the celluloid to crealized ball.
